In person lessons are back!
After some recent local uproar in the enquiries, I listened and believe me..I took your strong aversion to technology very seriously!
What was the hold up you might ask?! Well due to the shared studio space being no more (*cough* largely taken over by percussion instruments) I had to have a re-think on how to make it possible, rejigged a few things (and rooms in my house) and VOILÀ! I am pleased to say that in person lessons shall be available again from *drumroll*....
So if you are local and wanting to join me for a sing song or perhaps not so local and wanting an in depth voice MOT ...whatever the vocal need please pop by, I'd love to see you!
The studio offers the perfect little zen space to try things out in with all the tracks equipment and resources needed for a fun and productive session.

If you are coming after work please keep in mind that late slots will be favoured by my online clients so please let me know ahead of time if there is an ideal slot so we can get this booked in before it gets snapped up!
Regular slots will be given on a first come first served basis and lesson packages are available.
What do I need in prep for my online lesson?
1) A decent enough Wifi connection...obviously the most important one.
2) Download the free Zoom app onto preferably a laptop as this will offer both of us better sound options which will guarantee the best quality session. If this isn't possible then not to worry, smart phones and tablets still work (sound preferences will be double checked in the initial session to maximise efficiency)

3) Make sure that your internal/external microphone and camera are active and working.

4) If you are using specific materials/mp3s/backing tracks etc , get them lined up and ready to play from your end to vocalise along with, this will help prevent any latency. All other exercises and instruction work well back and forth.

That is all..
You will receive a Meeting Id and Password on the day of the session which you can click on, or if you have downloaded the app you can enter by clicking the 'Join' option on your apps home page. From there you will be placed in a waiting room prior to the session and invited into the room to begin.

Recorded lessons for audio and visual feedback can be particularly handy in playing back vocal results before and after working on something. Sooooo useful as it can be tricky for our ears to fully perceive in the moment the differences in the sounds we make never mind seeing what's going on with our jaw, tongue, or perhaps sometimes visible muscles in our neck (all valuable clues).

We are hearing back a combination of internal and external vibrations including resonance refections of the walls & room size surrounding us (unless of course you have monitoring), this feedback is often delayed and isn't the full picture. Therefore it can be incredibly useful and informative in our learning to listen back however cringey you may feel about it initially...I totally get it! Also it is a fantastic exercise recap and great to vocalise along with in between sessions.
